Physio Remedies: Our Specialisms

Physio Remedies is a Centre of Excellence for Physiotherapy, providing a Consultant-level service with direct links to surgeons and consultants.

Just like surgeons and consultants, our physiotherapists are specialists in their own areas and they work to mirror, consolidate and support the work carried out by orthopaedic surgeons to help you get back on your feet as quickly as possible.

Specialist areas of treatment are not exclusive – our physiotherapists work to treat the body as a whole – and seeing patients as quickly as possible is always our top priority. For complex or post operative cases, we’ll always endeavor that you’ll see the right specialist.

Our physiotherapists’ specialist areas are:

Sarah Lawson – Foot and ankle and knee
Jo Stephen – Knee
Paul Martin – Hip / groin and shoulder
Nick Smith – Shoulder
Kara Mulvein – Spine
Caroline Ephgrave – Spine
Stuart Mailer - Lower Limb

All our physios are over 18 years qualified and they maintain our clinical standard through Audit and undertaking a minimum of 20 hours per year of continued professional development (CPD) attending conferences and courses.

Over the next few months we’ll introduce our specialist physios.

Sarah Lawson

Sarah had wanted to be a physiotherapist from the age of 15, and she realised her dream after qualifying in 1992. She went on to gain a postgraduate qualification in Sport Medicine in 1997, and later became the Outpatient and Sports Injury Manager at the Wellington Hospital.

When she found herself spending more time on paperwork than patients (her clinic at the Wellington was owned by an American corporation), she went into private practice – first helping a small physio clinic get back on its feet, and then setting up Physio Remedies in 2005.

Physio Remedies has come on a long way since its inception (which consisted of just Sarah on her own, in a converted broom cupboard at the Lansdowne Club): with top physios from around the country, state-of-the-art facilities, and relationships with renowned surgeons and sports organisations, it’s one of the most highly regarded physio practices in the country.
